Refurbishment of Nobel House, Smith Square, Westminster, London.
Nobel House is a Government building in the heart of Westminster, housing various different agencies under the DEFRA banner over eight floors.
The brief was to refurbish all the floors to include new meeting rooms, new LED lighting, two new tea points to each floor and also refurbish and create a new reception area and meeting room suite on the ground floor. During the project we were also instructed to carry out the instalment of a new roof terrace garden on the sixth floor which incorporated different themes, large seating areas and a green oak pergola. The work was completed to a very high standard to reduce the need for extensive forward maintenance.
What we did
Being involved from the beginning, we were responsible for all cost control management of the project, including producing the budget cost estimate and pre tender estimates; managing all change requests; overseeing all subcontractors and dealing with Final Accounts.
After producing the tender documentation and managing the procurement process, we also analysed the tender returns and produced a comprehensive tender report containing our independent recommendations for contract awards.
